- Fasting and praying – We are asking all churches to fast and pray to be led by the Holy Spirit that this is what God is calling the church to do. We must ask God to bless their pastor to understand the vision to be a part of this national critical ministry to save our children. Fasting and praying allow the body and the soul to rid themselves of all unnecessary worldly elements that will impede the success of this national ministry. We are asking churches to dedicate one service and one night of training for the purpose of fasting and praying for both divine and biblical clarity concerning the mission of bringing 6 million children back to Sunday School.
- NBCI needs your church to register as a Sunday School supporter through this website and send us a $200.00 love offering so that we will have the ability to answer all the requests that we know are coming. In addition, and most importantly, your love offering qualifies your Sunday School Department to be eligible for a grant of $2,500.00 to help purchase Sunday School material because of the increase of children coming back to Sunday School.
- NBCI will designate your church as a Sunday School leader in your zip code/community. As a lead Sunday School church, you will be responsible for organizing up to 15 churches in your community so that there will be hundreds of volunteers going out every Saturday fishing for children to bring back to the Sunday School at your churches. Your group will have the ability to name themselves and report back through our email the name of the Sunday School cluster in that zip code or community. All of our churches will have the responsibility to collect a one-time contribution of $20.00 from every Christian in their communities. The funds will be sent to NBCI and then bundled and distributed into $2500.00 grants to help churches purchase additional Sunday School materials.
We need to raise $5 million dollars. We are asking all Christians to give us $20 to help us bring 6 million children back to Christ
What is our Church-based Gameplan?
We are very happy and excited to report that the Rev. Dr. Mark A. Croston, Sr. Will be our Chief Sunday School Strategist. Praise be to God! – that God has sent a man who years ago wrote a book on how to organize and execute an effective Sunday School Agenda. You will hear more from him when we discuss in detail how Christian churches can copy this successful formula to help us bring back and sustain 6 million children back to Christ and I thank you.
“Growing up in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, some of my earliest memories of church are related to Sunday School. My dad, Rev. Nathaniel M. Croston, Sir., was the pastor of a small church, but he also served as president of the Pennsylvania Eastern District Congress of Christian Education. Our church’s Sunday School was held after the 11 am worship service, so often I would accompany him to visit and encourage the Sunday Schools of several churches that were a part of the district on his way to our church.
After my dad died and a new pastor came, our church hooked up with a group called the American Sunday School Union. Rev. Howard Cartwright and several others of these urban Sunday School missionaries encouraged the Sunday School work in our church and gathered key youth from several churches for Bible study and basketball. It was really leadership development and discipleship, but they never told us that. Out of this group at least nine of us have been serving in full time Christian ministry. Additionally, others have been serving as deacons, trustees, Sunday School workers and more.
Growing up with these experiences I got to see first hand that churches can really achieve “Big Results” through Sunday School. I guess it is providential that after serving for 26 years as pastor of East End Baptist Church, Suffolk, Virginia and for many years as the lead instructor for the Baptist Sunday School and BTU Congress of Virginia, I would spend the latter days of my ministry career as the national director of Black Church Partnerships, LifeWay Christian Resources, leading a staff that assists churches in building strong Sunday Schools across the country.
Many churches are led by eloquent speakers and powerful pulpiteers, but many have not explored Sunday School work and its untapped power for making disciples and growing the church.”

Excerpt from the introduction on “Book Big Result Sunday School & Black Church Life”, by Rev. Dr. Mark A. Croston, Sr.
And I will give them a heart to know me, that I am the LORD: and they shall be my people, and I will be their God: for they shall return unto me with their whole heart.
Jeremiah 24:7 King James Version (KJV)
